Due to the reorganization of European operations, a manufacturing company decided to close one of the plants located in Italy and made about 100 people redundant. B-Story supported site management, the HR and Corporate Communication directions to define the external and internal communication strategy, prepare all materials to be used for the announcement, train spokespeople, and coordinate media relations. A qualified coach joined training sessions to provide site managers with specific emotion and stress management skills.
Our results?
- After the announcement, union negotiations were highly tense and employees went repeatedly on strike. However, it was appreciated how the company managed internal stakeholders, taking into account employees requests as much as possible
- Media coverage was limited to local news publications
