Despite being acknowledged for its transparency and strictness, one of the biggest Italian non-profit organizations wanted to be ready to face negative situations and attacks which could threaten its reputation and impact fundraising. We prepared the Crisis Manual, starting with the assessment of vulnerabilities and risks, then analyzing all possible crisis scenarios. We developed crisis procedures and materials for each case, collecting statements and materials to be used with external and internal stakeholders.

Our results?

• The organization established a Crisis Committee with senior management representatives, sharing the Crisis Manual and all related materials during a specific training session
• We prepared a Crisis Handbook for staff and volunteers, with practical info and suggestions to identify possible crisis occurrencies and contribute to an effective crisis management
